After upgrading a couple of years ago to Sonar Producer 8.5 I was a bit skeptical about the new X-1 Producers qualifications. Whether there was sufficient need to upgrade and what not. The word from Cakewalk/Sonar was the Pro Channel selling point and as much as I wanted to get the Pro Channel Im needed more of a push to upgrade. This came from two sources one was the system requirements which were somewhat lower than required for 8.5 which was a plus because I had maxed the resources out a few times in my recording projects. Of course the Pro Channel was a definite plus also.....each track has it's on compressor, EQ, and tube saturation....good for that studio polished sound. But what really got me to got out the funds was a review by a Sound Egineer who stated there was a noticible increase in fidelity over the 8.5. Seeing how I'm always looking to get a higher fidelity sound I dropped the $99 for the upgrade. $99 isn't much but I've already upgraded from Studio 6XL to 8.5 Producer (which if I remember right the 6XL was $149, and the upgrade to 8.5 was $199) so the $99 was a relief from the retail$399 X-1 Producer price. Any how here are some of the specs.................
